Looking to take your family out to see fireworks on Independence Day? Hampton Roads offers plenty of options!

Newport News Stars in the Sky takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. at Victory Landing Park, located at the end of 23rd Street at the James River. The event begins at 7 p.m. with free children’s rides. Food vendors will be selling funnel cakes, seafood, hot dogs, hamburgers, and ice cream. Entertainment will be provided by Cheap Thrills (7 to 8 p.m.) and Carbon Leaf (8:15 to 9:30 p.m.). Fireworks by Pyrotecnico, presented by Newport News Shipbuilding, begin at 9:30 p.m. over the James River.

In Colonial Williamsburg, festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. when the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums march from the Capitol to Market Square. Performances include: 6 p.m.,U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band at Courthouse on Market Square; and 8 p.m., Virginia Symphony on Palace Green. The evening ends with 9:30 p.m. fireworks. Free parking is available in the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center parking lot and, throughout July 4, you can ride the Colonial Williamsburg’s buses for free.

The 33rd annual Yorktown Fourth of July Fireworks will take place along the Yorktown waterfront. The beach picnic area will be open to the public but not to vehicular traffic. The Victory Monument area will not host a concert or be available as a viewing area. Event parking opens at 4 p.m. at the corner of Cook Road and Ballard Street. Visitors are urged to arrive in Yorktown before 6 p.m. for the fireworks due to heavy traffic. Food concessions will be offered from 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Chischiak Green along the waterfront. Performances on the Riverwalk Landing Stage include: 7 p.m., Sounds of Liberty Bell Ringing Ceremony; 8 and 9:45 p.m., Glen Boswick and the Sounds of Swing Orchestra. Fireworks will happen at 9:15 p.m. over the York River.
